Robert Adams

A Global Life, Lived with Purpose, Curiosity, and Joy

Robert Adams was born at the onset of World War II into a family shaped by grit, civic service, and enterprise. From an early age, he was surrounded by stories of international business, public leadership, and creative problem-solving, lessons that would shape his remarkable path. After earning a degree in Law from The Queen’s College, Oxford, and qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, Robert launched a career that would take him across 27 countries and several decades of global transformation.

His work put him in rare company: auditing on behalf of Gulf royalty in Qatar and Oman, advising multinational corporations across Europe and Africa, and later contributing to the post-war recovery of Bosnia as part of the Office of the High Representative. Each chapter of his professional life demanded more than technical expertise; it required diplomacy, courage, and cultural fluency.

Yet beyond the boardrooms and state visits, Robert’s life has been full of harmony, literally and figuratively. A gifted singer, he performed with the Anglican Pro-Cathedral choir in Brussels and serenaded dignitaries as part of a barbershop quartet. He’s also a devoted sportsman who played village cricket, ran long-distance races into his eighties, and won golf tournaments well past retirement age. From diplomatic tables to choir pews, Robert Adams has lived with purpose, humor, and a tireless spirit of adventure.
